Does SL4NT summarize events that are recieved. I.e will it generate the
"last message repeated n times" or will this summarization only occur at the
originating Unix system?

Marlin,

SL4NT does not summarize events in the way you describe ("last message
repeated n times") but you can configure a rule to execute the associated
actions not for every single syslog message but only when x messages arrive
within a configurable time window.
