Hello,

I am evaluating your software for use on our network. I currently have SL4NT 2.1 installed on a multi-homed NT server. I cannot recieve any syslog messages. I have at least one action and one rule, and have been monitoring the syslog counter with perfmon. I do not see any messages being

received. I have Cisco routers and firewalls that are currently logging correctly to a Linux box, but I would like to log to NT also. Is the problem with the multi-homed server?

Hello Zachary,

SL4NT should work fine on multi-homed computers.

- Did you check the Event Log? There are maybe other syslog daemons running

so that SL4NT can't bind to the ports. If this is the problem you should see

Event Log messages regarding this problem in the Application Event Log.

- Use a tool like Network Monitor to verify that syslog messages are really

received on the interfaces.

- Use the "Send syslog message" feature in SL4NT Manager to verify that the

service is functional.
