Since this is a mixed environment and we already have a centralized unix

syslog system via syslogd (port udp 504). When win2k clients grow, we would

extend the syslog to windows. My question is if it is possible to use sl4nt

from win2k to connect a unix syslogd daemon and to have logs centralized? if

positive, how? Thanks.

:-) George

George,

if you are talking about forwarding the Event Log entries of W2K computers

to a unix syslog daemon using the syslog protocol, then no, it can't be done

with SL4NT.

If you're meaning something different, then please explain your intentions

in more details.

Might http://sourceforge.net/projects/ntsyslog/  be of help?

"This program runs as a service under Windows NT 4.0 and Windows 2000. It

formats all System, Security, and Application events into a single line and

sends them to a syslog(3) host."
