Below are some samples of the sysloggers output (chopped to fit)

1/16/01,5:17:13 PM,10.100.10.10,???,LOCAL2,ERROR,8012:
1/16/01,5:17:14 PM,10.100.10.10,???,LOCAL2,NOTICE,8013:
1/17/01,7:43:10 AM,10.100.10.15,???,LOCAL7,ERROR,200:
1/17/01,7:43:10 AM,10.100.10.15,???,LOCAL7,NOTICE,201:
1/17/01,7:43:10 AM,10.100.10.15,???,LOCAL7,ERROR,103:
1/17/01,7:43:10 AM,10.100.10.15,???,LOCAL7,NOTICE,104:

Can they be aliased in some file so that true reverse lookup does
not need to be provided?

I did not see a hosts file in the software's directory, nor did
i see any entries in the registry relating to hosts.

Thanks

Hi Rick,

if you don't need reverse lookup, you can disable it on the "Other Settings"
property tab. To prevent output of "???" to the log file, you can create a
new 'Log Format', where you don't include the '<HostnameSource>' data field.

The other solution, supporting local reverse lookup without the need for
DNS, would be to create a HOSTS file in the C:\WINNT\SYSTEM\DRIVERS\ETC
directory with all the needed entries.
